We lost a national treasure today. Dolly will be remembered as one of the greatest musicians, one of the most beloved individuals, and one of the kindest people to ever live.

I grew up singing along to her songs and watching her movies. As I got older, I realized she was one of the very few people on this planet who was almost universally loved, and she truly deserved every bit of that love.

My son received a book every month thanks to Dolly’s Imagination Library, and her new version of “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” has been on my playlist since it was released seven months ago.

Rest in peace, Dolly. The world is a dimmer place without your light.
