Wolverine 3 gets an R-Rating.

Wolverine 3Wolverine 3 has been on the lips of the comic fans for awhile now, but as of the last couple weeks, we’ve finally started to get some real information about the film.

We already knew this would be Hugh Jackman’s last outing as the marvel anti-hero (Although I’m holding out for at least one Deadpool appearance, come on, even just a cameo would be fine), but this week Collider caught up with Producer Simon Kinberg, at an X-Men Apocalypse Press Rally; and he confirmed the rumors that’s been circulating for the past few months, that Wolverine 3 will in fact have an R rating.

After the success of Deadpool, it’s only natural to think about Wolverine getting an R rating.  Wolverine tends to be one of the more violent characters in the marvel universe, however with the money to be made selling Wolverine to the kiddies, I’m actually surprised to see this happening.  This should give us a closer to the comics feel of Wolverine, letting his potty mouth run free, and letting him be as violent as he needs to be. (After all Wolverine is the best at what he does, and what he does is rip people apart).

Rumors have also been flying recently, although Collider wasn’t able to confirm these details, that Patrick Stewart will be returning as Professor X in Wolverine 3, and the storyline will focus on Wolverine and Xavier’s father/son relationship.  Also unconfirmed, Liev Schreiber has at least been in talks to resume his role as Sabretooth in the new film.  Schreiber did an excellent job playing Wolverines long time rival, and I’d love to see him return for the last outing.

Wolverine 3 is currently scheduled to be released on March 3rd, 2017,
