At today’s Apple Live event (Sept 7, 2016) Nintendo’s own Miyamoto was live on stage to unveil Super Mario Run, an iOS game featuring the beloved character on a non-Nintendo device. Super Mario Run features your standard “Runners Game” mechanics, where one finger is really enough to play the whole game. Mario will continue to run and the user will use one finger to control jumping and other features of the game to control where Mario goes.
Miyamoto showed off the standard game, and also showed off a battlemode, where you compete against other people’s scores, either friends or anyone in the Nintendo community. The game will be available on the App Store holiday 2016.
